The GCRA Return to Ringette Committee and your executive council are still intending on moving forward with programming for the winter session as soon as we are out of Provincial and Municipal lockdown. In order to ensure proper planning, we require all participants to commit by registering for the winter session by the end of day Sunday January 10th.
Below are a few quick answers to questions you will likely have:
- How many sessions will we get?
- At this time, we are still intending to proceed with 2 sessions per week for 10 weeks - this is dependant on current City of Ottawa health guidelines and limitations pertaining to number of participants allowed in a facility at a given time (for example, if we are limited to 10 on the ice, this could be reduced to 1 time per week)
- If we are unable to provide a 10-week session, we will provide prorated refunds to registered participants once the session is complete
- What if I choose to withdraw after I have committed?
- Our refund policy has not changed from what was previously announced:
- Due to public health restrictions, we need to set bubbles, and Cohorts and will not be able to alter them. With this in mind, we will be unable to offer any refunds once registration is complete.
- Should Ottawa Public Health shut down facilities due to future outbreaks refunds may be offered to registered participants on a prorated basis.
- Our refund policy has not changed from what was previously announced:
- What if the lockdown is extended and the winter session does not proceed?
- If GCRA determines that we are unable to proceed with programming, we will issue all participants a full refund without penalty
- Will we be proceeding with modified game play?
- GCRA has been approved for Ringette Ontario Phase 3 of the Return to Play Framework which allows for scrimmages and modified game play
- GCRA is continuing to plan for modified game play for this winter session
- Proceeding or not with RO Phase 3 is regulated by what will be permitted by the City of Ottawa
- What about the Bunny Program?
- GCRA is continuing to plan the Bunnies program for this session however, we are only able to proceed when the City of Ottawa allows for a minimum of 20 participants on ice at any given time (classified by the current zones of GREEN, YELLOW, and ORANGE).
- I don't want to commit and make payment now; can I join later?
- In order to properly plan and commit to our ice contracts, we need to know how many participants - hence bubbles - we will field. We will do our best to have everybody who wants to play be able to, however we can only guarantee spots and level of play to those who register and pay by the deadline.
- Other questions?
- We may have them answered on the news article we published in December
