Call out for GCRA Executive and Council Volunteers!
2021-07-22GCRA needs motivated and dedicated people to help with the day to day operations of the association. Without you, we cannot operate effectively! Raise your hand and lend a hand!
GCRA have an immediate requirement to fill 3 critical roles within the Executive council:
Important note:
These 3 vacancies do not represent all vacancies! We have many opportunities for many volunteers, however, to align with recommendations coming from our governing bodies, we will be updating our Bylaws and revisiting our Officers (Executive Council) and will not have elections at this coming AGM for any roles other than defined below.
In addition to these critical Executive council positions, we are always in need of many other volunteers within our Councils (Operations, Administration, and Development). If you have expertise or interest in any of the areas below, please reach out to myself to the responsible VP.
- VP Finance (appointed): minimum 2 years of related experience is required
- VP Administration (elected): related experience, preferably past experience with any GCRA council elected
- Secretary (appointed as this is an even year elected position) - Related experience

- Operations: This council is responsible for operational aspects of the GCRA specific to player placement and team formation.
- In order to get through the coming months of team formation, we require to form a team of convenors to assist with player placement at the Regional and Fundamental (previously: Novice) divisions

- Administration: This council is responsible for all for all off ice /enabler activities within GCRA, ensuring we are compliant with our governing bodies.
- This council includes the domains of: Registration, Publicity and Promotions, Equipment, Refereeing, Public image (website), Communications, and Tournament.

- Development: The development council is responsible for the development of athletes and coaches of GCRA.
- The council is knowledgeable in player and coach requirements which align to those as set out by our governing bodies.
- The development council plan and deliver development sessions primarily to our athletes, and facilitate coach training and internal coach development as necessary.

- Executive: The Executive council is accountable for all activities of GCRA.
- This council is the public voice of the association
- Responsible for Financial, Ice acquisition/scheduling, Safety and Discipline, and provides oversight to all councils and committees of the association.
