History
The Gloucester Ringette Association (G.R.A.) was formed in 1972 to administer and promote the sport of Ringette in Gloucester. Gloucester and Cumberland Ringette Associations merged in 2002. Since their inception, G.C.R.A. has grown steadily to become one of the largest of more than sixty Ringette Associations in the Province.

Today, with 25+ teams and more than 300 players, coaches and officials, the G.C.R.A. has proved to be a dominating force on the Provincial and National Ringette scene. This combined with an additional 100+ teams from the National Capital area brings and extra 1,500 participants together to compete in a regular interlocking schedule of more than 130 teams with more than 1,800 players. These players, combined with their family and friends, administrators, officials, and coaches, provide a substantial captive market for your advertising investment.

In the  50 year history of Gloucester and Cumberland Ringette associations Gloucester Competitive Ringette teams have produced Canadian Champions nine times and runners up on seven more occasions. In doing so, they have captured 30 Provincial Championships in 6 different age groups. Our teams continue to be significant and challenging entries in the numerous tournaments we attend each year.

The Annual Gloucester-Cumberland Tournament has traditionally drawn more than 100 teams from six provinces, with the majority from various parts of Ontario. The Gloucester-Cumberland Invitational Ringette Tournament combines all levels of play in eight different age groups over a four day period in February.
The Gloucester-Cumberland “Devils” Competitive teams have competed at the elite level for over 35 years. Our teams will once again compete at the highest competitive level for community teams in the province. As well, we provide meaningful competition and fun for every player, regardless of skill level. We encourage development of “life skills” and “team concept” qualities that will last a lifetime. As a result of the tremendous success of our previous “AA”, “A”, “Provincial”, “B”, “C” and Fundamentals programs, this year’s edition of teams will again be challenging for league, tournament and Provincial Championships. We are very pleased and proud of our exceptional Bunny Program, a “learn to skate” skills and team building program. Many players on our National and Provincial Championships teams got their start as a “Gloucester or Cumberland Bunny”.

Our “A”, “B” and “C” team’s play an 18 game schedule in the National Capital Region Ringette League (NCRRL), against teams from across the Ottawa Valley. They play additional exhibition games against teams from l’Outaouais and the Montreal area. Teams go to two to four local tournaments spreading your corporate name across the National Capital Region. Teams may also go to two or three invitational tournaments, as well as hosting our own Annual Tournament in February. Our Tournament is one of the most prestigious in Canada, well known as one of the largest ringette tournaments in the world. It is held annually just prior to the Ontario Championships.

Our teams have gained a reputation as being strong ambassadors of our community. We are very proud to tell you that while we often win Tournament Championships, our athletes always display sportsmanship and dignity. We will wear our sponsor’s name proudly in our pursuit of excellence.

Purpose
We are asking you to participate as a sponsor for this season for your choice of programs, such as our Invitational Tournament, the Provincial Championships, or to sponsor players, either as a complete Team Sponsor or one member of a Gloucester-Cumberland Team. If you chose to sponsor one athlete, this sponsorship will be applied to this particular player to help offset the costs involved in playing ringette. If you chose to sponsor a team, then your sponsorship would be spread across the costs of all members of the team and their associated costs.
Your sponsorship is directly to assist funding of ice costs, tournament fees, officiating, travel, etc. Your most helpful contribution won’t be used to offset the cost of any personal equipment, such as skates and sticks, unless specifically so stated by you.
You can see, your sponsorship is not intended to cover all costs, but will go a long way to assist in the operating expense of a ringette team or program. Your contribution will not only be of benefit to the player(s) concerned, but also to the association and the community, by enabling this competitive sport to be accessible to all participants. Full details of choices of team or individual player sponsorships may be found in the link above called “GCRA Sponsorship Packages“. It is available in .pdf format for easy viewing.
