Planning for the event is continuing to progress and we have some news we would like to share with you and your teams.
Opening Ceremonies and Theme:
Planning is well underway to offer a slightly different style of opening ceremonies to the participants and their families. We are very hopeful everyone will enjoy a great evening.
The theme for the event and in particular the opening ceremonies will be “Making History”.
Ringette is so much more than just a sport. It provides athletes, from day one with the opportunity to make new friends, enjoy new experiences both as a player and as a teammate, on and off the ice. All of the participants in this event will have made their own history to date and have so much more history left to write, as players, as referees, as coaches and volunteers in this great sport.
Each year at Provincials teams are crowned champions and become part of the history but that history goes so much further than just simple medals. Each team has written portions of their season’s history and that will only be further expanded during the event. The memories of their time together is something they will never forget.
In addition, the sport of ringette enjoys a rich heritage in Canada, in Ontario and in all associations across the province. The sport has evolved over the years from equipment to rule changes, progressing to its current format with teams and players creating new memories and new history every day.
We hope that each team will be able to put their own spin on this theme and make this event a memorable one for them, one they will remember for years to come.
